Reading Poppin Beans to the children of Cape Cod

About ME

Poppin Beans is my first children's book. It is about family traditions. I am the founder of Women of Influence and Purpose.

Women of Influence and Purpose, Inc. is an organization founded by Deborah L. Younger-Mitchell.  The mission of the organization is to provide resources and assistance to women and families. Women of Influence and Purpose can assist with job placements, mental health services, educational resources, and event planning, for churches and other organizations.

Deborah is a certified Evangelist of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.   She is also working toward obtaining her Master's Degree in Education and Library Sciences. Deborah is planning to open her own library and school, focusing on African-American Culture and Literature. She is a member of NAMI, the National Alliance of Mental Illness - the nation's largest nonprofit, grassroots, mental health, education, advocacy and support organization. Deborah is also a member of the Massachusetts Black Librarian Network. Ms. Mitchell is a life-long learner, who despite life challenges, is pursuing a better future for herself and her daughter. She wishes to lead and be an inspiration to the next generation. Her favorite mottos are "Let Go and Let God" and "Just Do!". She gets her main inspiration from her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her family. She believes in the scripture that says, "Count it All Joy".

Deborah also serves women and families as an Avon Representative. Visit her Avon website under Avon Tab.

Evangelist Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University in Medford, MA. She majored in Child Studies, and minored in French. Deborah was also a participant in the Tufts-In-Paris program. She worked at Oxfam America, an international grassroots organization, for ten years. She travelled to two West African countries, Senegal and Gambia. Ms. Mitchell has obtained a Para-Professional Certification in Library Sciences. The Library Support Staff Certification (LSSC) Program is a program of the American Library Association-Allied Professional Association.  Ms. Mitchell has a lovely teenage daughter, Leah, who is now a college.
